I've been everywhere That was the title of a hit country-and-western song from the late 1950's, originally sung by Hank Snow, and made famous by Johnny Cash. I resemble that! My 26-year career in the Air Force took me to more than sixty nations on five continents - sometimes only for a few minutes, other times for as long as four years at a time. In all that travel, I also managed to find the perfect partner, help rear three children, earn more than 200 hours of college credit, write more than 3000 reports, papers, documents, pamphlets, and even a handful of novels, take about 10,000 photographs, and met a huge crowd of interesting people. I use this weblog and my personal website here to document my life, and discuss my views on subjects I find interesting.

Never enough time...

The last few weeks have been absolutely non-stop. We're planning a wedding for my youngest daughter on July 3rd, I've been doing some drainage mapping for a friend of mine, and we've started taking care of a couple of year-old boys, children of friends of my daughter's who got pregnant before they finished high school, and are now trying to catch up. Add to that my daily bout with sciatica, mid-back pain, neck pain, headaches, and just plain grouchies, plus my wife's continued problems with MS, and it fills the day! Things are just as hectic today, but most of what has to be done has been taken care of already. I've got several things I want to post about. I hope to get them done today, or at least by tomorrow.

While I find myself not agreeing with you on a number of political and social issues, I want to offer congratulations to you and your family upon the upcoming wedding of your daughter. I am also sorry to hear about your medical concerns and those of your wife. Take care and good luck.

hi, may i recommend you review the type of mattress / bed you sleep in at night...

sleeping in old bargain beds can be a cause for some of the symptons described here, particularly those relating to your back and neck pains. More specifically, could i suggest you try out one of the many memory foam mattresses available on the market today. You may find such specialist mattress prices are quite high, but hey, they were originally developed by NASA and i for one can say they have all but cured my bad posture / back & neck pains...
